About the Organization
Melanin Angels (MA) is a community- based organization founded in 2020 committed to building a county which is equitable and inclusive. MA works to ensure that there is no discrimination based on ethnicity, language, race, ability, or gender identity.
What We Do
Melanin Angels provides harm reduction services, rapid HIV testing, and other resources to disadvantaged individuals to aid them in self-sufficiency.


Why We Do It
One in six MSM living with HIV do not know of their infection. According to Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority in 2022 at least 69,144 people were experiencing homelessness a 4.1% increase from 2020. The need for our program and services could not be greater. The number of individuals experiencing homelessness continue to increase. Los Angeles HIV Surveillance Report 2021 says about one in three people who inject drugs (PWID) living with HIV did not know they were infected. One in four TG women living with HIV do not know of their infection.
